If you find yourself in the tranquil surroundings of Shiramine, look no further than the delightful Yukidaruma Cafe. Nestled in a charming old folk house, this cafe is not just a place to grab a bite; it’s a culinary haven that celebrates the local cuisine with a cozy embrace.

From the first step inside, you’re greeted by an atmosphere steeped in history, evident from the rustic decor that showcases traditional items. The scent of home-cooked goodness fills the air, inviting you to sit back and indulge. The warm hospitality makes you feel instantly at home, enriched by the beauty of your surroundings.

Yukidaruma offers an array of unique dishes that highlight the essence of Ishikawa. Don’t miss their Handcrafted Soba, served steaming hot, paired magnificently with the delicate flavors of daikon. It’s a comforting choice that warms the soul, especially on chilly days. The Hakusan Dam Curry is a standout dish, featuring a smooth and creamy spinach-based sauce that complements the rice and seasonal vegetables perfectly. Coupled with a vibrant, green curry that bursts with flavor, this meal is a tribute to the region’s rich agricultural produce.

Drinks here are also noteworthy; the Shiso Juice is refreshingly unique—sweet with a herbal twist—and the perfect accompaniment to your meal. If you have a sweet tooth, make sure to grab one of their big botamochi on your way out; the subtle sweetness of the red bean paste is a delightful way to end your visit.

But Yukidaruma is more than just food; it's about unforgettable experiences. Take it from customer 松茂 who mentioned how the unique ambiance and flavors left a lasting impression. Another guest, Chân Nhân Phạm, echoed similar sentiments by praising not only the scrumptious food choices but also the lovely views that accompany each meal. As Blue Lady aptly put it, Yukidaruma Cafe is a hidden gem worth discovering, ideal for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle and immerse in genuine flavors of Japan.

Whether you are visiting for a quick lunch or a leisurely afternoon, Yukidaruma Cafe promises warmth, comfort, and an exceptional culinary journey that you won’t soon forget. So gather your friends or family, and make your way to this lovely café in Hakusan—you won’t regret it!

Soon, I’ll be enjoying another delicious meal at Yukidaruma Coffee, but before that, I want to share my experience from last month. The warmth of the hot soba, paired with the delicate flavors of daikon, was exactly what I needed on a chilly day. The atmosphere was cozy, and the hospitality made the experience even more enjoyable. Looking forward to my next visit!

I have to review both the café and the whole town, since it’s such a hidden gem that needs the exposure to survive! I loved the view from this café and their special colourful pink/purple juice that tasted both natural and sweet. The food was out of this world too! They have such interesting unique cusine and desserts. Getting to Shiramine with a bus directly from Kanazawa station with no stops are possible, even though it doesn’t say so on google maps. Search on google and you can find the bus line and time from Kanazawa station. We went to stay in Shiramine for a class on an overnight trip (I’m an exchange student at Kanazawa University). Let me tell you this: Shiramine wants foreign guests to enjoy this traditional village. They have the hikes, the onsen, the great cafées, the local dishes and a museum which consist of real houses from back when and even Ishikawa prefectures biggest wooden house. You can enter all of them and enjoy local traditions and crafts and tea. All they need is exposure and for people to find them. It’s close to Hakusan, this small quiet beautiful town. They are famous for the snowman festival in winter and the hikes in summer. If you ever want to visit a real traditional village and not give up easily by going to Hakone like every other tourist, this is the place to go. I really found their will to survive and take care of their guests (and their willingness to go the extra mile for anyone who comes) really admirable. I wish more people would visit to this place, enjoy the wonderful onsen and town, and support the livelyhood of the locals! Our guide are buying the houses meant to be demolished (when people die or move away this is what happens to the houses for everyone’s safety) and he fixes them and makes them into these beautiful restaurants, museums and accomodation.
